Colin Custer on His Mission Trip to Ethiopia
Colin Custer spent a month last summer in Ethiopia with missionaries Mike and Amy Rogers and family. He wrote this description of his experience.
This July I recently had the amazing privilege to work at Camp Langano in southern Ethiopia. During my stay I served as a camp counselor for the 40 kids who came to camp each week. We played soccer, volleyball, and ping-pong, did crafts, sang worship songs (both in English and Amharic, the national language), and put on skits and teachings about the Bible. In the short week I was with each group we became very close, and I could see with incredible clarity God's work among His people. Despite the deep poverty, no electricity, no running water, few buildings made of more than sticks and mud, God's spirit was moving in the camp. No fewer than 20 kids came to Christ each of the three weeks I was there.
